These knee pads are made of good quality materials and are quite sturdy. They will definitely protect your knees!
Although Killer 187 Pro knee pads are the most popular among skateboarders and Roller Derby participants, Triple Eight KP22 knee pads are a good alternative at about half the price. I’ve been skating in them for the past 12-13 years and they have always protected my knees both quad skating and skateboarding. I’ve even worn them for riding my mountain bike at an indoor mountain bike park on ramps and obstacles. They stay in place quite well, and they are even more secure when wearing Triple Eight knee gaskets underneath. I sometimes wear hinged knee braces under my knee pads and the adjustability of the inner and outer knee pad straps gives me some flexibility in getting a snug fit with or without a knee brace under my pads. These pads are also a little less bulky and restrictive than some other thicker, heavier pads. I think these pads provide adequate protection in most skating environments and they have held up well for the amount of skating I do. The caps are not replaceable, so if you are doing so much knee sliding that you will wear through the plastic knee caps, perhaps look at the new KP44 or other pads with replaceable knee caps.
I ordered the large but they don't safely fit me as they are too small
