These knee pads are perfect for my uses. I throw them on just to do commuter rides on my longboard, but I also use them for yardwork sometimes, and they have worked extremely well for both occasions. The open strap design allows me to easily put them on over my pants, which was a huge pain with my previous pads, and the straps stay secure for hours. Its also really easy to make quick adjustments to the straps to stay comfortable.
I am a 5'10" 160lb adult male rider and I purchased the Large size to accommodate both my legs and the extra fabric of my pants.
